This past Tuesday, beach volleyballers from different portuguese Universities gathered in Mira for third and final qualifiers of the National Universities Beach Volleyball Championship.Early in the morning the sands were filled with athletes striving for a spot in the finals and eventually in the European Universities Beach Volleyball Championship.
The competition extended throughout all day and in the end, in the male category, the victory went to the duo of Januário Silva and Fabrício Barros, from Porto Polythecnic. In the female category, the winners were Joana Resende and Ana Isabel Monteiro, students from University of Porto.
On the 17th and 18th of July in Porto, host city of the 9th European Universities Beach Volleyball Championship, the National Universities Beach Volleyball Championship finals will be played.
The best three teams from each category will move on to paly in the Europeans.
